DESKTOP OCEAN CAIRNS
Cairns are one of the oldest markers known to mankind. They predate history and are found at every point of the compass. They are found on mountain paths and on ocean shores. Simple piles of rocks, they let you know that the path is safe, that others have passed this way before, and that it is okay to keep going.
We found ours on a small beach tucked away between granite boulders, in a place where the Atlantic Ocean crashes upon Eastern shores. To reach this beach we drop our sail and anchor our boat. Our hearts surge with the rise and fall of the waves.
The long strands of kelp that are said to cleanse the blood wave back and forth beneath our dinghy as we row ashore to find rocks on the beach. Who knows where they have come from or how far they have traveled, but they are all the more powerful because of the journey they made. We leave several small cairns to tell others that we were there, totems to those that follow. It is our way of saying that the anchorage is safe and the path you are on is a good one.
On a desk or dresser, these small cairns will remind you of the same thing. Every time you touch them they will help to ground you, to give you balance, and to create calm no matter what the winds of the world blow your way.

Because these stones are found in nature, we cannot guarantee the color, shape or size of our cairns. Just know they were handpicked from our special beach and carefully brought together with balance, strength and care.
